Welcome to Winter!

Happy Holidays from Holden Acupuncture!

Winter is almost here, and so is the holiday season! In this month’s newsletter, you can check out our Holiday Gift Guide, Robin’s latest blog post, our Cold & Flu Wellness Kits, and a healthier twist on hot cocoa! As always, if there is a topic you would like to hear more about, please let us know.

1.  Our Holiday Gift Guide

The holiday season is upon us, which means that most of us are trying to find that perfect gift for a loved one. Consider giving a gift of health with a gift certificate from Holden Acupuncture. Try our Relaxation Session gift certificate ($60), good for a one hour treatment designed to help you relax and de-stress. Purchase a new patient gift certificate ($95), and we’ll give you $10 off your next treatment! Check out our full holiday gift guide for some other ideas, including some great stocking stuffers.

2. Tips to Stay Healthy & Sane This Holiday Season

It seems the temperatures have finally dropped after many gorgeous fall days. The days are much shorter and if you’re anything like me, you’re fantasizing about your pajamas and a cozy blanket by 5pm! Physiologically our bodies are meant to rest more in winter. We aren’t intended to keep the same active schedule that flows more easily during the longer summer days. During winter we are meant to rest more, eat warm cooked foods and limit cold, raw foods and drinks. Check out Robin’s full blog post with tips to stay healthy this winter.

3. Cold & Flu Wellness Kits

We’ve brought back our Cold & Flu Wellness Kits, and will have them in stock all winter long! These products are used for prevention and early stage treatment of head colds and upper respiratory ailments. Each kit is $40 and contains: Tiger balm, Jade Windscreen, Gan Mao Ling, Astragalus (with a copy of our chicken soup recipe), and some delicious tea, as well as instructions for each herbal item.

4. Delicious Hot Cocoa!

Drinking hot cocoa is a great way to stay warm this season! This healthier version is made using almond milk, raw cacao powder (better quality cacao is more delicious!), pure maple syrup, vanilla extract and a pinch of sea salt. Feel free to use regular milk or coconut milk in place of almond milk. You can also use your favorite sweetener to replace the maple syrup! See the full recipe here.

Don’t forget to take care of your body and mind this winter, and have a beautiful holiday season!
